The President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, proceeded, this Saturday, November 19, 2022, to the official launch of the connection to the national electricity grid of the Mbanza Mboma plateau. This Catholic mission, comprising a primary school, a middle school and a high school, is located in the Territory of Madimba, District of Lukaya in the Province of Kongo-Central.
The Head of State, himself a former student of the local school, received a very warm welcome from the population, students, alumni and teachers.
Organized by the Association of Former Students of Mbanza Mboma (ASSACOM), the ceremony had four highlights: the blessing made by the Bishop of the Diocese of Kisantu, followed by the word of circumstance of the president of the association of former students of Notre Dame de Mbansa Mboma College (ASSACOM), the words of thanks by two students of the middle and high school, finally, the launch of the electric current by the Head of State who was also entitled to a guided tour of the school buildings (middle and high school). The Bishop of Kisantu stressed in his speech the determination of the Catholic Church to support the vision of the Head of State to prevent the balkanization of the country, and also his will to advance the country in its integral development.
After this visit to Mbanza Mboma, the President of the Republic went to the Mbuela Lodge estate in Kisantu, to take part in the closing ceremony of the Economic Forum on the Development of Kongo Central, entitled “Kimvuama” and focused on the promotion of agribusiness as a driver of development in this province of the DRC. On the spot, the Head of State followed with interest the final report of the work of this forum which focused on recommendations to promote the emergence of local entrepreneurs true vectors of development at the base as provided for in the presidential program PDL145, for the development of the 145 territories of the DRC
